WORKSHOP: HOW TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS WITH KRIYA YOGA

Successful practice of kriya yoga promises a reduction in self-harm, and a feeling that we are who we should be.

This workshop will use āsana, prānāyāma and mantra to demonstrate how regardless of health condition, kriya yoga helps us attain a fresh perspective and firm basis from which to evolve.

Bhagavad Gītā 4.18 “He who sees inaction in action, and action in inaction, he is wise among men, he is a yogi.”

Colin Dunsmuir has been a trainer of yoga teachers and yoga therapists for the past thirteen years. He began his yoga journey when he was rushed to hospital in his late teens, just two hours away from dying from a bleeding duodenal ulcer. Realising there was a lot more to discover in life he began attending a variety of yoga classes. He travelled to India to study the first and most of the second series of Aṣṭāṅga Vinyāsa directly under the guidance of the late K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath in Mysore, India.

While there Colin embarked on his first Yoga Therapy Teacher Training that soon led him to study yoga and yoga therapy with the late T.K.V. Desikachar, the son of Professor T. Krishnamacharya. During these years of constant study, he learned how to use many of yoga’s tools and how to combine and accurately apply them based on their required effect for an individual, the process of Viniyoga. As a teacher and trainer he is now adept at employing clear language to convey complicated yoga concepts and possibilities, in a simple and accessible way.

His current True Yoga Therapy trainings are accredited by the British Council of Yoga Therapy and Colin sits on the Yoga Therapy PSB, with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. The next four year teacher training course will start in late 2019, as a BWY accredited group. Colin teaches full time in central London, specialising in 1-2-1, yoga therapy and supervising yoga teachers. He also continues his studies under the careful guidance of his teacher Bernard Bouanchaud in France.
